A bunch of Class X students took home lessons on how to stay safe during lightning and storm. Kolkata Cloud Chasers, a group of professionals who love to track, photograph and document storm and clouds, conducted a session with students of Mahadevi Birla World Academy on Thursday. There has been two recent lightning deaths in the city. Debabrata pal, aged 21 years, died after he was struck by a bolt of lightning during cricket practice at Vivekananda Park in June. Ajay Mallick, aged 27 years, was struck by lightning on the Maidan in July. Nupur Ghosh, the Vice-Principal of the school, talked about the usefulness of such interactions. She told that such interactions were important for children so that they become prepared to deal with the dangers of lightnings and storms in real life.

Debarshi Duttagupta, who was the main speaker, addressed an audience of 210 students and asked them to play the role of teachers to their parents, brothers and sisters when then go home.
