I) My older brother is search of a job. 

Answer- My older brother is looking for a job. 
ii) I cannot tolerate his audacity.

Answer- I cannot put up with his audacity. 
iii) The headmistress distributed books among the students.

Answer -  The headmistress gave away books among the students.

Activity 2

join the the following pair of sentence:
a) Study attentively. You will not score High Mark.

Answer- Study attentively for you will not score High Mark. 
b) She saw a butterfly. She tried to catch it.

Answer- She saw a butterfly and she tried to catch it. 

 c) She won a prize. I know it.

Answer - I know that she won a prize. 
d) He is my brother. He is wearing a blue shirt.

Answer - He is my brother who is wearing a blue shirt. 

Activity 3
Suppose you are the the cultural secretary of the students Club of your school. Write a notice in about 100 words informing the students about an online debate competition for the students of classes IX and X of your school.

All the students of our school are hereby informed that the Cultural Secretary of the student’s club of our school is going to organize an Online Debate Competition on 2nd October 2021 in the school auditorium. The Debate Competition will be held at 11am and the time allotted to each student will be 2 minutes. The students of class IX and X can participate in the debate. Interested students can register their names to their respective class teachers by 28th September 2021.
