About poet of the poem upon westminster Bridge- William Wordsworth was born on 7th April in 1770 at cockrmouth in Cumberland, United Kingdom. His father name was John Wordsworth and mother name was Ann Cookson Wordsworth. He lost his mother at the age of seven and father at the age of thirteen. He was educated at a school at Hawkshead. Later he was educated at St. John's college, Cambridge. He passed the B.A examination in 1791.
As a young man, Wordsworth developed a love of Nature, a theme reflected in many of his poems. He was one of the greatest poet's of the world. His remarkable works are : The Prelude, An Evening Walk, The Lyrical Ballads, The Solitary Reaper, Ode on Duty etc.
William wordsworth breathed his last on April 23,1850. His great autobiographical poem,The Prelude, which he had worked on since 1798,was published after his death.
Bengali meaning About the Poet of the poem Upon Westminster Bridge: William Wordsworth জন্মগ্রহণ করেন 7 ই এপ্রিল 1770 খ্রিস্টাব্দে UK-র Cockrmouth নামক স্থানে। তার পিতার নাম John Wadsworth এবং মাতার নাম Ann Cookson Wordsworth. তিনি তার মাকে হারান মাত্র সাত - আট বছর বয়সে এবং তার বয়স যখন তেরো তখন তিনি পিতাকে হারান। তিনি প্রথমে শিক্ষা লাভ করেন Hawkshead এর এক বিদ্যালয়ে এবং পরবর্তীকালে Cambridge এর John's College এ উচ্চ শিক্ষা লাভ করেন। তিনি বিএ পাস করেন 1791 খ্রিস্টাব্দে। একজন মানুষ হিসেবে Wordsworth ছিলেন প্রকৃতি প্রেমিক কবি। তার Poem এ প্রকৃতির প্রতিচ্ছবির উপস্থিতি জানান দেয়। তিনি বিশ্বে এক অনন্য কবি ছিলেন। তার উল্লেখযোগ্য Poem গুলি হল The Prelude,An Evening walk, The Lyrical Ballads, the Solitary Reaper, Ode on Duty ইত্যাদি। William Wordsworth শেষ নিঃশ্বাস ত্যাগ করেন 23 এপ্রিল 1850 খ্রিস্টাব্দে। তার বিখ্যাত আত্মজীবনী যার কাজ শুরু হয়েছিল 1798 খ্রিস্টাব্দে, তা প্রকাশ হয় তার মৃত্যুর পরে।
Context of the poem Upon Westminster Bridge : 1802 সালে জুলাই মাসে প্যারিস যাত্রা কালে উইলিয়াম ওয়ার্ডসওয়ার্থ এবং তাঁর বোন ডরোথি ওয়ার্ডসওয়ার্থ ডুভার বন্দরে’ যাচ্ছিলেন। ভোর বেলার দিকে যখন রাস্তাঘাট নির্জন - নিস্তব্ধ তখন টেমস নদী বক্ষে নির্মিত ওয়েস্টমিনিস্টার ব্রিজের উপরে তাদের ঘোড়াগাড়ি সাময়িক ভাবে থামে, তখনই ওয়ার্ডসওয়ার্থ সেখান থেকে লন্ডন শহরের যে অপরূপ,মোহময়ী নৈসর্গিক দৃশ্য উপলব্ধি করেন তা তিনি ‘Composed upon Westminster Bridge, September 3, 1802’ Sonnet - এ তুলে ধরেন। যা আজ আমাদের আলোচ্য বিষয়।
